Entering Yukon

Riding Day 25     June 24

Fort Nelson, BC To Watson Lake, YT

Ride Mileage :  321            Weather condition: perfect

Total Mileage :  5295

Long ride today. We left Fort Nelson at 7am and arrived Watson Lake around 4pm with few short breaks.

It was one of the best ride so far in Canada, very scenic road with wildlife. Many buffaloes and couple of bears.

Lots of construction on the road, it’s the time of the year where a lot of repair is done so just be patient and wait for the pilot car.

Gas station are more scattered and it’s not unusual to ride 150km without seeing  any, so it’s something to plan ahead and I filled up my Rotopax with an extra gallon.

Price of goods are much higher in Yukon…well that is to be expected, as you go North prices follow…

It’s becoming difficult to find lodging, many motels are already fully booked and camping is becoming a challenge with rain and mosquitoes. I met two riders at the motel that were planning to camp tonight but gave up quickly after a ferocious mosquito attack while setting up their tent.

Again today I was riding with John and we had really good time last night sharing stories with a bunch of other riders in the motel patio.

Great day!
