Riding Day 21 June 20
Kamloops, BC To Quesnel, BC
Ride Mileage : 251 Weather condition: Ideal
Total Mileage : 4355
A lot of blue sky today over BC. What a beautiful ride with perfect temperature. I was planning to camp tonight and actually found a nice location right before Williams lake at 150 Mile House on Dugan lake. The campground host was really nice and we had a good talk but he mentioned that it was going to rain most of the night and all day tomorrow. This is really frustrating. I hate having to wake up in the morning and rush to pack the tent and all the mess around under a cold rain. So again it’s going to be motel tonight and probably tomorrow as well.

Dinner time…well I have seen more appealing meals… |
After this “outstanding” diner, I went back to the motel to study the route and weather forecast for next few days. The thing is that at Prince George you have a major route option and the weather forecast is showing rain moving east so the Cassiar route seems to be the best option as opposed to the Alaska hwy. However, I met last night two riders from Vancouver that are going to Tiktoyaktu (the Canadian equivalent of Deadhorse in Alaska, the most northern town of respective state) and they told me that Cassiar hwy may be difficult to find lodging and gas as many businesses are still in the process of re-opening post Covid. The Alaska hwy is a safer bet, but no matter what, it’s going to be wet tomorrow!!
Forecast for Wednesday at 5pm |
