Tough day!

Riding Day 24     June 23

Fort St John, BC To Fort Nelson, BC

Ride Mileage :  260            Weather condition: Cold and heavy rain

Total Mileage :  4974

John and I left Fort St John around 8am under a pretty dark sky. Not even a mile later, it started to rain, the temperatures were in the mid 40s. After 20 miles we had to stop as it was pouring badly and helmet visor started to fog.

We found refuge under the roof of the rest area bathrooms. Not too bad considering the condition, couple of chairs would have been nice.

Everything is wet including the camera

The next stop was at a gas station about 50 miles from Fort St John.

Then another 50 miles later at pink mountain we stopped at the buffalo Inn restaurant for a breakfast/lunch. I was freezing and my gloves were soaked, I thought they were waterproof when I bought it but definitely not.

And we continued for another 130 miles, the good thing is that the weather started to improve significantly. Rain stopped after a while.

Arrived at Fort Nelson around 4pm, struggled a bit to find a motel that had room for the night and took the last one at the Kacees motel.
Done for the day!
Tomorrow is a long ride of about 320 miles to Watson Lake but the weather is supposed to be very nice.
